New Books ‘N Shit

June 14, 2012

This year I have had two books published so far (Metallica and Iron Maiden) and I’ve delivered three books to the various publishers with two books due to be delivered later in the year. Four of those five books will be published next year. The other title is now up on Amazon for pre-order and will be published in August.

You Me At Six – Never Hold An Underdog Down:

I have also signed a contract for a new rock biography to be published next year, which means there’ll be five books bearing my name published in 2013.

It’s always a satisfying moment when a box containing copies of my latest book turns up. This time it was two boxes because of the sheer weight of my Iron Maiden book. I’d had a few emails from reviewers and foreign publishers who were given advance copies even before I was, and feedback was very positive going so far as to say “stunning.” It’s undoubtedly my best book to date. It’s a glorious object. I hope Maiden fans dig it as much as I do. Here is the official press release:

The Ultimate Unauthorized History Of The Beast
Neil Daniels

ISBN: 978-1-908279-23-1
Pages: 224

Finally, a glorious, illustrated celebration of one of the most successful rock bands of all time!

Formed in east London in 1975, Iron Maiden went on to become one of the most successful rock acts in history. With more than 85 million album sales to their credit, the legendary metal band remains hugely popular worldwide: Their 2010 album, The Final Frontier, debuted at  #1 in 30 countries and received unanimous critical praise.

In this, the first complete illustrated treatment of Iron Maiden, a roster of respected heavy metal journalists including Ian Christe, Martin Popoff, Mick Wall, Daniel Bukszpan, and more relate the band’s history, analyse their recordings, and provide a complete discography.

The stories behind the band’s formation, recordings, and tours, are complemented with more than 400 images, including live performance and candid off-stage photographs, as well as memorabilia, gig posters, T-shirts, backstage passes, buttons, and tickets. And with Derek Riggs (the man behind Iron Maiden’s iconic mascot, Eddie) having created the book’s exclusive cover art, this really is a must for any serious Iron Maiden collector.

Few bands have as widespread global appeal as Iron Maiden. Here is the book that gives that history its just treatment.
