Joan Jett Book Review

November 20, 2010

TODD OLDHAM –

“JOAN JETT” (Book)

(Ammo Books)

This tenderly crafted book is a treat for fans of one of rock’s feistiest female stars. Joan Jett has always been an enigma even though she’s been in the spot light most of her life. This book tells her story in her own words though it features a foreword by Bikini Kill’s Kathleen Hanna and designer Todd Oldham pens an afterword. The pictures capture her on stage, on the street or just hanging around. She remains a very photogenic person and is (still) very attractive to look at. She is best known as a former founding member of the all-girl group The Runaways and her 1981 solo hit ‘I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll’. She’s never given up on the rock ‘n’ roll and this book really captures her spirit. It’s certainly  a worthy addition to any fans rock library.
